Olive trees are not native to Arizona, but they have been cultivated in the state for many years, particularly in the southern and central parts of the state. Arizona's climate and soil are well-suited for growing olive trees, which require hot summers and mild winters, and well-drained soils.

Olive trees were first introduced to Arizona in the late 1700s by Spanish missionaries who established missions in the area. The olive industry in Arizona grew in the early 1900s, particularly in the Phoenix area, and by the 1920s, there were over 5,000 acres of olive trees in the state.
