Sea Lions are protected under the Marine Mammal Protection Act, but they still face many dangers in the wild, including bites from other Sea Lions or predators, entanglement with boats, nets and commercial fishing equipment and infection from bacteria, algea or harmful biotoxins. Many injuries will heal on their own with time, but some do require intervention by marine biologists.
A portion of all proceeds from this image will be donated to support marine wildlife conservation.
