Description
I couldn't help but notice all the scars on this California Sea Lion. Not only is he scarred on his face, but also across his body and his flippers. Although they are protected under local and federal laws, sea lions and other marine mammals still face many dangers including predators, boats, fishing equipment and other sea lions. I don't know how he got all these terrible scars, but as you can see he wears them proudly.
My hope is that this image brings attention to the dangers marine mammals face. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of any of my marine mammal collection will be donated to support marine wildlife conservation efforts.

He really does, doesn't he. But seriously, how can you not be happy when you live in such a beautiful place though?
