The Monterey Marina viewed from the Monterey Bay Recreation Trail along the California coast.
The Monterey Harbor has a rich history dating back to the early 1600's when Spaniards sailed the California Coast in search of safe passages and harbors. After California became part of the union the Wharf was built and Monterey became a thriving fishing and canning community that was stage to several novels by John Steinbeck, most notably Cannery Row (1945).
Today tourism draws visitors to Monterey from all around the world. It offers beautiful California coastal weather, wineries, award winning restaurants, elite golf courses, stunning beaches,, marine sanctuaries, a variety of watersports and attractions such as the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Activities in and around the Monterey Marina and Harbor including, recreation trails, marine wildlife watching, whale watching, scuba diving, boating, fishing.
