Description
Icons of the American automotive industry stand like monoliths against the Nebraska plains in a quirky, yet artistic, recreation of Stonehenge called Carhenge. Creator Jim Reinders built the Monument in Alliance, Nebraska in tribute to his father and it was dedicated at the summer solstice in June 1987. Once was considered an eyesore by many of the townspeople, Carhenge was donated to the Citizens of Alliance in 2013 and has become a celebrated roadside tourist attraction.
