A loving hippopotamus couple shares a kiss in a digital artwork that combines multiple photographs and artistic elements using a variety of in camera and post processing techniques to create a colorful and painterly piece of art.
Hippos were once a widespread species with populations throughout Europe, the Mediterranean, Asia and and Africa. Many of those species have become regionally extinct and they are now found primarily in the Sub-Saharan region of Africa. The greatest threats facing Hippos are human related activities like construction and development causing loss of habitat, disturbances from war and civil unrest, and hunting/poaching for their meat and teeth.
30% of all proceeds from the sale of this piece, including prints and products containing this image will be donated to support wildlife conservation.
